Old images of To take Actor Patrick J. Adams’ audition has resurfaced after the show “changed his life.”
The famous drama TV series focuses on a fictional one New York City law firm called Pearson Hardman, and are Harvard graduate lawyers.
It aired for nine seasons on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, with Adams playing the role of fraudulent lawyer Michael Ross.
On the show, Ross is hired for his photographic memory and humor, despite never having attended Harvard law – or completed any law degree for that matter – although he still passed the bar.
The show is also known for its British lead role Royal family member Meghan Markleas well as Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman, among others.
News broke out a spin-off earlier this yearstarring Arrows Stephen Amell, while Macht, who plays Harvey Specter in the original, was confirmed he was part of the start of the series, which is set in Los Angeles.
To take peaked in popularity during lockdown as one of the most watched shows Netflix too, so it’s no surprise that Adams said a specific scene from the pilot episode changed not only his career, but his life.

To take fans will know the scene by heart, but essentially Mike Ross (Adams) is on the run from the police when he evades a drug bust at a hotel and finds refuge in Harvey Specter’s (Macht) conference room.
After accidentally stumbling upon the interview, Ross then demonstrates his skills by reciting specific laws, even correcting Specter on a law he couldn’t quite remember.
Ross impresses the senior attorney and even convinces him to hire him at the firm, despite never completing his law degree, because he stands out from the other candidates who left Specter unimpressed.
It’s a cool, flowing scene that sets the tone for the show early on, and a fan favorite among viewers.
You can watch old footage of the audition above, in a moment that Adams had no idea would change his life.
The clip captures the early stages of the character’s humor, sarcasm, and knowledge, as those across the table laugh at his delivery of the script’s jokes.
They clearly rated him highly as he would secure the role.

Fans used the comments to talk about how important the scene was to the show, as one wrote: “Patrick said in a recent interview that this scene with Gabriel in the pilot not only changed his career, but his entire life.
Remarkable.”
Another said: “Damn he’s really good, so good he made them laugh”
A third simply said: “This moment is legendary.”
To take would become one of the defining shows of the 2010s, as Ross and Specter’s characters would develop one of the best rapports we would see on screen.
